We are happy to provide you with some information about, ARCH of Raleigh
and Cary, our very active Catholic Homeschool Support and Activity Group here in the Triangle area. This is the place you can connect with other homeschoolers without hiding your light under a bushel!
Supplement to Diocesan Parish Communities
Our activities are not affiliated with one particular Catholic Parish in Raleigh or Cary. Rather we are
all encouraged as families to be actively involved in our individual parishes, and we are grateful to local parishes
who are willing to offer their spaces for free or at affordable rates for our group gatherings. Special thanks most recently
to St. Joseph's and Our Lady of Lourdes parishes who have hosted our Raleigh activities this year and St Andrew's in Apex for hosting many Cary activities.
We are support, not a "school"
ARCH activities support your homeschool curriculum with activities that are spiritual, social, educational, and sometimes
athletic. We are not a SCHOOL. We can help you find information about curriculum and we even have co-op classes but joining
our group is not like enrolling in an umbrella school in some other states. Our activities do not take the place of sacramental
prep done through your individual parish. We support your parish and home teachings.
What you will enjoy!

Easy to jump in and become part of the group!
Some of our recurring activities require registration at the beginning of the traditional "school year"
(August/Sept) and then are closed to new registrations and wait lists are formed for mid-year openings. In Raleigh, First
Friday classes at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Poole Rd, and the St. Gianna Tuesday Co-op are two that operate this way.
However we have recurring activities that are open for all to attend as well as special events and Feast day celebrations
throughout the year.
Staying in Touch
Our ARCH yahoo group email group is almost the best reason join! Love email or hate email... or
even if you have limited access to email... you will find yourself in need of this trusty resource. How did we get information
out to each other before this wonderful invention?
Seriously, once you are a member, our email group will be an important part of your support. Several
parents check the yahoogroup mail from the library or have the parent that has work email keep track for them. This yahoogroup
has a calendar, a files section, archives of messages posted, and a place for pictures. It truly is a lifeline! Once you join you will get connected and feel connected more quickly because of this virtual community.
Doing your part
Upon registering you will also be asked to volunteer in some capacity to share your individual talents with
the group. Our many functions require ARCH families to help organize them.
